The Model United Nations simulates the different debates that take place in the UN General Assembly.

This model has matured since its implementation back in 2012 at the GCRB. The Social Sciences team works hard to have our students debate with their peers from the most prestigious schools in Bogotá.

All academic areas in the school develop a Pedagogical Project to teach a methodology and build knowledge, enhancing students’ skills in all of them. Since 2012, we’ve been implementing the MODEL UNITED NATIONS that allows Students to understand how an increasingly globalized and complex world works, understanding the problems that millions of human beings face every day. The MUN (for its acronym in English, which corresponds to Model United Nations) is a simulation of the main United Nations (UN) organizations. The MUN is a discussion forum in which Students from 5° play the role of delegates from different countries before that international organization, where they carry out debates, write proposals to solve different issues under discussion and draft resolutions as final recommendations for all the countries participating. Argumentative, rhetorical, oratory and negotiating skills are strengthened so that our students are recognized as the best in this type of events both in Bogotá and the rest of the country.
